Dubbed the Cadillac of Cadillac, the 1993 Fleetwood Brougham changed the way people though of full sized American luxury cars.  Their words not mine.  But good heavens...  I'm a Caddy guy myself.  Having owned 2 of them, I think I'm ready for the third.  So why not the biggest and the best?

Now that they are 20 years old, the Brougham is very cheap compared to what they were when they first came off of the assembly line.  I find these cars for no more than 4 thousand and if they are above that, they are show cars with 15 miles on the dash.  So 4 grand isn't too bad compared to 34 thousand when they were new!  5.7 V8, rear wheel drive, sunroof (please), leather interior and a trunk that can carry another car.  Also from the promotional commercial, it says that this car has an 8 thousand pound towing capacity???  That's more than entry level pickup trucks that are brand new today.  The guy is towing a boat in the commercial... with a Cadillac!

Starting out with my first Cadillac.  The images are sort of a "what it was to what it became" situation.  Catalytic converters are worth some money, it's nothing beer and a chip saw can't take care of. The Catera was decently reliable.  Very reliable in fact... just when you needed it the most is when it usually, more often than not decided to stop working properly.  I got it when I was 17 and three days later I wrecked it and then wrecked it five more times in it's life with Brett.  This thing handled two and a half years of me at the wheel, 6 accidents 223,000 miles and a blown head gasket before it was left the garage.  Not banking on getting another one of these.

Then the one I have now.  My 25 year old CoupeDeville.  Of course I picked the best picture of it for this post.  2 years and 3 months later and it's still here.  The only thing I have changed is a tire and the oil.  Reliable to the extreme... just like the big body Brougham Fleetwood.
