Fifth-grade students at Sorgho Elementary School are presenting a Learn ’n’ Treat Historic Cemetery Walk Night from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday night. The school is located at 5390 Kentucky 56.

Everyone is invited to walk along the school’s walking trail. Nearly 30 historic characters will rise from the cemetery to tell their stories and describe their importance to the history of our country. Children age 12 and younger will receive a special treat from each character along the way.

Historic figures represented in the fourth annual event include Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Clara Barton, Sojourner Truth, Thomas Edison and many more.

Admission is $2 per person or $5 per family. Proceeds will benefit the fifth-graders’ trip to Washington, D.C.

Snacks and concessions will also be available.

The Learn ’n’ Treat Historic Cemetery Walk is a collaborative project of Sorgho’s Gifted Education Model.
