‘Amazing Spider-Man 2′ Super Bowl Trailer Kicks Off Some ‘Sinister’ Plots
The 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Super Bowl trailer hit the small screen during the big game between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, February 2, but now the footage has made its way on the web, as well as a new extended "Enemies Unite" extended trailer. Check out the new footage of Spidey facing down his biggest challenge(s) yet -- Electro, Rhino and Green Goblin ... oh my!
Leading up to Sunday's big reveal, Sony Pictures teased the full 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Super Bowl trailer by releasing the first half, featuring the epic battles to come, the mysterious OsCorp company forever looming in the background, and Emma Stone's Gwen Stacey once again finding herself in harm's way. The actress previously teased of her character's ultimate fate to 'On Air With Ryan Seacrest,' "I think the intention the whole time has been to tell Gwen's story as closely to the comic as possible," which doesn't bode well for her since [SPOILER] she dies in the comics. "We'll see if that comes to fruition."
From Sony's official logline:
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' will be released in theaters on May 2, but OsCorp will surely cause even more trouble even farther down the road as all signs point to the announced 'Sinister Six' movie, which will team up some of Spidey's most evil adversaries. Sony also already announced development on 'The Amazing Spider-Man 3' (June 10, 2016), 'The Amazing Spider-Man 4' (May 4, 2018) and 'Venom' movie.
