Drive through older residential sections of any city or town in Kentucky and you're likely to find neighborhoods that have been maintained for decades, if not decades.

BEAUTIFUL OLD KENTUCKY REAL ESTATE

The Bluegrass State's history dates back well before the turn of the 19th century, and those who have strived to keep old homes built in that era have created a nice little nest egg for themselves. You need look no further than Owensboro's own Griffith Avenue. While those homes may not go back to colonial times or even the 1800s, they are mostly all very old but very beautiful and highly sought-after properties.

And even though I'm not in the market, I will look for "open house" signs just so I can take a peak and do a little wishful thinking.

180-YEAR-OLD HOME FOR SALE IN LEXINGTON

But consider the opportunities in much bigger cities like Louisville or Lexington. They feature plenty of old neighborhoods with beautiful homes packed full of history like, for example, one that has just gone on the market that was built in 1843. And according to  realtor Ciara Hagedorn--who spoke with FOX56-Lexington--it's a home where Abraham Lincoln himself once walked the halls.

AN ENORMOUS HOME THAT WAS ONCE A BED & BREAKFAST

However, since our 16th president's visit, the house has been busy as a residence and a bed & breakfast. In fact, it became Lexington's first B&B in 1995. Consequently, as you may have guessed, this place is ENORMOUS...to the tune of 5,005 square feet with room for 20 cars in the driveway. So hey, if you're looking for a home for you and 19 of your friends, you're in luck.

And now that you've seen the front, take a look a the rest of this beautiful structure.
