The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden will be the sight of the annual Scarecrow Festival this Saturday September 17 beginning at 9am.  It's all about Bluegrass.

The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden's Annual Scarecrow Festival will have a special theme for this year's event. It will be honoring Bluegrass and Bill Monroe's 100th Birthday.

All scarecrows entered are to have a Bluegrass Theme.

There will be prizes awarded for bluegrass scarecrow entries.  No entry fee is required but a registration form needs to completed. The event will kick off at 9am with a special Kids Fun Run.  The run will feature prizes for each catagory and is free to enter.  Those in grades K and younger will skip, hop and jump, 1st and 2nd graders will have a sack race, 3rd and 4th graders participate in a 50 yard dash, 5th and 6th grades 1/3 mile run and the 7th and 8th graders will do a mile run.

All are invited to attend the will be face painting, Pumpkin painting, "Go Fish" pool and more.

Since it is a Bluegrass Scarecrow Festival, live Bluegrass Music will be featured.

Bring a picnic lunch or food and drink will be available for sale.  Be sure to bring chairs and your camera.

Admission: Free for Garden Members and all Children, $3.oo for adult non-members and $2 for Seniors over 65.
