Where is good place to stay in Ogle County?

Living in the Byron area, I get asked that question a lot and I never had a real answer until now. If you have been looking for a unique getaway in the area you are in luck.

What makes Byron so beautiful?

Ogle County, Illinois provides spectacular views of the beauty of the Rock River. The view along Route 2 from Byron to Dixon is picturesque and looks like something you would see in a nature-theme calendar. A perfect example is Byron Forest Preserve.

There are miles of trails guiding you through beautiful prairies. It is not surprising to spot birds, deer, and other wildlife going about their natural ways.

Another spectacular view is from afar, the Chief Blackhawk Statute. Truth be told it is even more fascinating up close at Lowden State Park, though technically in Oregon, Illinois.

Another uniquely beautiful spot, though not on the river or in a forest, is Stronghold Castle. Built and owned by the owner of Chicago Daily News, it is a fascinating place to tour. I would definitely add this to your "must visit" list when out-of-towners come visiter.

But, how about this very scenic getaway waiting for you, your family, and friends to enjoy in Byron, Illinois? There is plenty of space and it's truly a getaway in that it's secluded on its own island. It does not get much more of an escape than that.
