Calling All Former S.W. Andersons Employees

Annual Reunion for all former S.W. Anderson's Department Store Employees!

Did you know that S.W. Anderson's building at 2nd between St. Ann and Lewis Streets was on the National Register of Historic Places?

The annual Reunion for all those who worked for Western Kentucky's Largest Department Store will be this Saturday, May 19, at 10 a.m. The Museum of Science and History invites all former employees to this buffet breakfast and to tour their old work place.

This will also be a great time to bring any and all items you might have from those wonderful days at Andersons. Pictures, old charge plates, advertising items, store named clothing and other items are being sought after by the museum.

The offical invitation says it all, "Please join us for a Breakfast Buffet while you visit the old store site, friends and past colleagues!"

Kathy Olson with the museum says while the museum does have a list of those former employees she is sure it is not complete so she is asking everyone to "spread the word". "Anderson's was such a big part of so many lives in our community we want to spend at least one day a year celebrating the history of this great store. We invite everyone from former management to those who only worked holidays or summer help students to attend", said Olson. Here's an old Anderson's commercial.
