Changes in New York Talk Shows

Talkers magazine says longtime WOR, New York talk radio fixture Dr. Joy Browne has been let go by WOR, New York in a move that was not entirely unexpected given the change of ownership of the station from Buckley Broadcasting to Clear Channel Media and Entertainment. It’s being reported that other current WOR air talent are being dismissed but there’s no official notice of who else may leave the station. It’s been widely suspected that, over time, Premiere Networks properties such as Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity will make their way over to WOR and WABC – where those shows air now – will then add Cumulus Media Networks’ Mike Huckabee, currently on WOR.

While it doesn't mean much to us in Owensboro it is interesting to follow what happens in the media capitol of the world.
