After several weeks of preperation the City of Owensboro is spending three nights with citizens to discuss the proposed Events Center and Downtown Development. The first two events were held at RiverPark Center with the final forum tonight (Friday) at the Western Kentucky University Owensboro location on New Hartford Road.

Monday night a full house jammed the Jody Berry Theater to listen and ask questions. Tuesday night the crowd was a bit smaller and there were fewer question and more cheerleaders.

Tonight (Friday) many hope the crowd will be back again and armed with questions. The change in location is at the request of County Judge Al Mattingly who voiced concern earlier that county residents should have at least one meeting outside the city limits.

All tolled fewer than 500 residents have attented the much publicized meetings. Less than 500? As Judge Mattingly said last month, Shame on those who don't participate in these forums. They have nothing to complain about."

For those who can night attend, I took some pictures and recorded some questions from Monday night and have them posted here for you.
