It's been a very long time, but I remember the first time I heard the word "Costco" on television. I had no idea what they were talking about.

Then I heard it some more and it was enough to learn that it was a giant store. THEN it occurred to me that it wasn't fictional.

So, why on Earth was I unfamiliar with something that EVERYONE seemed to know about?

Well, it's because it began and is based on the West Coast and it just needed time to get here.

And, by "here," I mean Evansville.

Look out, tri-state, we're finally getting our Costco. And it is set to open Friday, June 28th, at 8AM on Cross Pointe Place.

Like Sam's Wholesale Club, Costco is membership-based and you become a member by joining on site or online.

Of course, there are ways to shop Costco WITHOUT a membership, but most of its clientele, historically, are members.

I was talking to Chad about it and, having lived in San Diego, he's VERY familiar with Costco.

And now we all will be, too.

Happy shopping!
