DCHS Senior Elijah Cooper Named National Merit Semifinalist
A huge congratulations this afternoon to Daviess County High School senior Elijah Cooper. He has been named a 2018 National Merit Semifinalist.
According to the Daviess County Public Schools, Eli is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Key Club and the DCHS Swim Team. He's also president of the Y-Club and Beta Club and his vice president of the Student Council. And, last year, as a member of the Panther Academic Team, he helped lead his team to a national championship.
With his National Merit Semifinalist designation, Eli is now eligible to compete for his share of over 7,000 National Merit Scholarships valued at more than $32 million dollars. Following graduation from DCHS, he plans to study pre-medicine and political science! That scholarship money will certainly come in handy should he be awarded a share.
Congratulations, Eli and good luck!
