The auditions are over and the field is set.  The finale for WBKR's talent contest, The Friday Night Fight, is set for Friday, August 6th at Friday After 5 in downtown Owensboro. There, eight finalists will take the stage and compete for the grand prize- $1000 and the opportunity to be the opening act for the huge "boy band" concert featuring members of Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and 98 Degrees.  That show will close out the Ruoff Party Stage on September 3rd, finale night for the 25th Anniversary Season of Friday After 5.

For the winner of WBKR's Friday Night Fight, it's a massive opportunity to have their music heard by thousands.

The Finalists for WBKR's Friday Night Fight

Meet the eight finalists for WBKR's Friday Night Fight talent contest. On Friday, August 6th, these eight talented acts will battle it out at the mic for our grand prize- $1000 and the right to be the opening act for the Boy Band Extravaganza (featuring members of Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and 98 Degrees) on Friday, Sept. 3rd on the Ruoff Party Stage at Friday After 5.

The finale of WBKR's Friday Night Fight will take place on the Jagoe Homes Patio Stage (at the RiverPark Center in downtown Owensboro) on Friday, August 6th. There, our eight acts will compete against each other in a series of "The Voice"-inspired knockout rounds. The last singer or band standing will win our grand prize.

Plus, and this is where the competition gets even more interesting and fun, there will be a panel of judges who will critique each performance live!  By the way, WBKR's Friday Night Fight is part of Friday After 5 and is FREE and open to the public.  Come on down and join us for what promises to be an incredible and entertaining showcase of local and regional talent.
