Five Things from My Childhood That Younger People Today Won’t Understand
Today on the WBKR morning show, Angel and I shared a really fun challenge. We asked, "Without saying your age, name something you remember from your childhood that younger people today would just not understand." As of child of the 70s and early 80s (okay, so I just cheated and broke the rules), I have MANY things that came to mind. However, I decided to narrow my list down to five things that I think every kid who grew up in those decades will remember. And, to my knowledge, I don't think any of things would make sense to someone growing up today.
Five Things from My Childhood Kids Today Just Wouldn't Understand
Do you remember these?
Okay, if not. Let me help you out. I searched YouTube and found videos of each one.
MERLIN
I was addicted to Merlin and its six different games: Tic Tac Toe, Music Machine, Echo, Blackjack 13, Magic Square and Mindbender.
CIRCUS OF THE STARS
WACKY PACKAGES
LITE BRITE
Quick note of reference. I was terrified of clowns as a child (still am) so I avoided this picture like it was the freaking plague.
LAFF-a-LYMPICS
My absolute favorite character?? On the Scooby-Doobies- Blue Falcon, Dynomutt and Captain Caveman. On the Yogu Yahooeys? Easy. Huckleberry Hound, Grape Ape and Quick Draw McGraw. And, of course, I always rooted against the Really Rottens!
Alright, without telling your age, what's something you remember from your childhood that kids today just would not understand?
