Former President Bill Clinton Visiting Owensboro in March
For the third time in the past 13 years, former President Bill Clinton will visit Owensboro. On March 6, President Clinton will speak at a fundraiser for the Wendell H. Ford Government Education Center.
A longtime friend of President Clinton's, Senator Ford was the Chairman of the Congressional Joint Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies when he presided over Mr. Clinton's inauguration on January 20, 1993.
On March 6, the former president will be the keynote speaker at a fundraising dinner to be held at the RiverPark Center. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the education center--a nonpartisan and non-profit organization which sponsors many different educational programs that encourage young people to take an interest in politics, government, and public service.
President Clinton was previously in Owensboro in the spring of 2000 when he visited Audubon Elementary School and Moonlite BBQ and then again in the summer of 2008 to campagn for his wife Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential bid.
Tickets for the dinner are available at the Owensboro Museum of Science and History. Table and event sponsorships are also available.
