Being that I used to live on the West side, I knew that the old West Louisville Elementary School had been transformed into Preservation Station. I knew that there were vendors inside and that it looked pretty cool in pictures, but until last weekend, hadn't been yet. To be completely honest, I figured it was 30% cool stuff and 70% junk. Sorry, that's just what I thought. But, my goodness was I wrong! Sunday, I headed out Hwy 56 to check out Market Days, which happens the first weekend of each month.

I was more than impressed! It was amazing!! Over 100 vendors, live music... I was in awe! AND... more importantly, I snagged some really cool, unique finds! Check out what I found...

Look at all these beauties...

I found the perfect vanity for my bedroom! (Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of it, sorry!) But, I did get a picture of this beautiful chair to go with it! And, I had previously gotten a set of end-tables and an old coffee table from Consignment Connection that matches it perfectly!

My Mom used to have a mirrored tray and when I saw this one, I just knew I had to have it. The wooden candlesticks are for my master bedroom fireplace. It's dormant, so I'm going to turn into a big ole pile of candles! One quick coat of white spray paint and these will be ready. The doilies... I love old things. I have a million ideas for these and once I've decided, I'll make sure and show y'all pics.

My bedroom has a very monochromatic theme, with subtle touches of color. These vintage Neiman Marcus wall hangers are perfect!

My Dad is 6'5, probably 225 and a man's man. He climbed telephone poles for a living back when AT&T was Bell South. He can drink Jack Black like it's Koolaid. He is pretty intimidating, if you don't know him. But, when I was a baby, he cross-stitched my Christmas stocking and it's one of my favorite things. When I saw this shoved in a shelf, I knew that, no matter how long it takes me, I'm making this for Carsyn... Christmas 2020, ha!

I'm a big fan of vintage clothing. I saw this dress, with those beautiful birds and it instantly just feel into my arms. I have no clue what year it was made or where it came from, but I'm more than happy to give it a new home. And, I swanny, it was made for me... fits like a dang glove!

Now, all I need is a good slip and I'm ready to hit the town, ha!
My great-grandmother Lena is one of my most-favorite things in my life. She passed away when I was in high-school, but she is always with me. Yesterday at OCC, when I walked in the sanctuary, they were singing In The Garden. That was Grandma Lena's favorite song. So, as you can expect, I was already emotional, ha! I walked into one vendor's room at Preservation Station and saw a raincoat hanging on a coat rack. It was an old, London Fog taupe raincoat. Yep, y'all are picturing your own grandmother, I can bet on it. The jacket even had the hood and waist sash with it. Will I ever wear this coat? Probably not, it's three sizes too big. But, I can't wait to get a nice coat rack, right beside my front door and hang it there. That way, when I need a little reminder where I'm from and where I'm going, she's right there.

I had such a great time shopping around the old West Louisville school. If you're in the Tri-State area, a visit to the Preservation Station is well worth the drive. Can't wait to see what I get next time!

Roxianne and I got a little carried away, ha!
