An animal rescue in Indiana that specializes in caring for small animals is asking for the help of the public to provide much needed care for one of its small residents.

Meet Kieran the Indiana Squirrel

Kieran (pictured below) is a little Hoosier squirrel. Some kind folks saw Kieran hanging out in their backyard when they noticed something wasn't quite right with his little squirrel face. With the help of the Pipsqueakery, an animal rescue sanctuary in Bloomington, Indiana, the kind people were able to trap Kieran.

Kieran Must Have Known He Needed Help

Once the trap was set, the Pipsqueakery says Kieran must have know he needed help because "he walked right into." Kieran was transported to the Pipsqueakery rescue and sanctuary where he was evaluated.

Kieran's Jaw Is Out of Place Making It Difficult to Eat

What appears to be an abscess has caused the right side of Kieran's furry little face to swell, pushing his jaw out of place. This means that Kieran's incisors don't line up properly, making it difficult if not impossible for him to eat.

The Pipsqueakery Hopes to Get Kieran on the Road to Recovery

The Pipsqueakery is hopeful that with the right medications the abscess will be resolved and his jaw will move back into appropriate alignment. If that happens, then our rescued rodent friend, Kieran can be released back into the wild.

Kieran Will Require Extensive Medical Care

To provide care to Kieran, he is being seen by a veterinarian, and will require syringe feedings and lots of medications, as well as wound care for the abscess.
