Veterans Invited to Attend Free Open House Hosted by Hoof Beats Therapeutic Riding
Veterans are invited to attend a special open house in honor of Veterans Day. The event, hosted by Hoof Beats Therapeutic Riding will include a free lunch provided by Mission BBQ, and all veterans are invited.
Equine Assisted Activities for Veterans
Hoof Beats Therapeutic Riding offers Equine Assisted Activities to veterans. This wonderful resource is incredibly beneficial to those who take advantage of the programs offered. All services offered are available at no cost to the veterans who participate.
<p class="font_9 wixui-rich-text__text"><span class="wixui-rich-text__text"><span class="color_15 wixui-rich-text__text">Hoof Beats Therapeutic Riding is a non-profit organization that offers Equine Assisted Activities (EAA) to our local Veterans free of charge. EAA includes equine activities to promote the development of life skills, emotional regulation, wellbeing, and improved psychosocial functioning for veterans suffering from the physical and emotional wounds of war, including PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other mental health challenges. Currently, there are over 13,000 veterans in Vanderburgh county. 1 in 4 of these veterans suffer from PTSD. Our local veterans are an underserved population and we know how important access to mental health services is.</span></span></p><p class="font_9 wixui-rich-text__text"><span class="wixui-rich-text__text"><span class="color_15 wixui-rich-text__text"> Interacting with horses builds trust and confidence and strengthens emotional bonds with each session.</span></span></p>
More than 13,000 Veterans in Vanderburgh County
If you are one of the more than 13,000 United States veterans living in Vanderburgh County or the immediate area, you are invited to attend a special open house hosted by Hoof Beats Therapeutic Riding at their facility on Evansville's west side. Veterans are encouraged to bring their spouse or another veteran to the event as well.
In Honor of Veterans Day
The open house, in honor of Veteran's Day, will be held on Wednesday, November 15th from 11 am to 1 pm. Food from Mission BBQ will be available while it lasts. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to learn more about the mission of Hoof Beats Therapeutic Riding and the resources that they offer to area veterans.
