The Grand Marshals

Organizers have announced that there will be three Grand Marshals for this year's Veterans Day Parade. Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke is no stranger to the Four Freedoms Veterans Parade. He has supported the parade every year since first participating as Mayor-elect.

Thank you, Mayor, for your support through the years.

Retired Staff Sargeant Richard Dauphin of the US Army is an Evansville native with over 20 years of serving with the Army before his retirement. After retiring from the US Army, Dauphin took a position with Evansville Code Enforcement.

Retired Captain Michael Collins of the US Army served as Drill Sargeant for Retired Staff Sargeant Richard Dauphin during his boot camp. Captain Collins served over 20 years in the US Army before his retirement. He now works for the Indiana Gaming Commission. Collins and Dauphin are brother-in-laws.

Two Ways to Participate in the Parade

This is a wonderful opportunity to get out and honor the veterans in our community and there are two ways to participate in the Veterans Parade - you can line Franklin Street as a spectator or you can enter the parade itself. If you would like to enter yourself or your organization as a participant in the parade, you can do so by registering on the day of the parade at the Registration Tent in the parking lot at the corner of St. Joseph Avenue and the Lloyd Expressway beginning at noon. The parade lineup and assembly will take place from noon until 1:30 pm. There will be music on the sidewalk in front of Smitty's Italian Restaurant from 1:30 to 2:00 pm, weather permitting, and the parade will begin at 2 pm.
