Stretch and Smile at Evansville’s Upcoming Kitten Yoga Event
My Dog Thinks Yoga Is a Team Sport
Every time I try to do yoga or any floor exercises, my 15-pound dog seizes the opportunity to jump on me and lick me straight in the mouth. I feel like Lucy and yell, "AAUGH! I've been kissed by a dog! I have dog germs!" He won't leave me alone either, so I have to lock him up if I want to finish my session.
It always makes me wonder, how do people do goat yoga? Do the goats jump on top of them? I can't handle a 15-pound dog. How do they handle a goat?
Kitten Yoga Is Something I Can Get Behind
One yoga class I most definitely would try, though, is kitten yoga. Kittens are tiny, playful, and way less intimidating than a goat or a 15-lb dog.
If you've been wanting to try kitten yoga, you'll have your chance. This week, River Kitty Cat Cafe will be hosting Kitten Yoga, and you're invited.
For a $25 donation, you'll get to hang out with some of the cutest kittens around and get a little healthier, too. Just bring your own mat or towel. Children ages 9 and older are welcome to attend with a purchased ticket.
Yoga and Kittens Are a Great Combination
Yoga is so good for your body. It promotes flexibility and mobility, strength and posture, pain relief, and heart and bone health.
And spending time with cats and kittens can promote a sense of happiness and well-being. It may help lower blood pressure, reduce stress, activate feel-good chemicals in the brain, and improve your mood.
Make a Night of It
This would be a great date night, parent-child outing, or evening with friends. River Kitty has treats and drinks available for purchase, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby to turn it into a full night out.
If you love kittens, yoga, or both, this sounds like a pretty purr-fect way to spend a Friday evening.
