An Owensboro Man Steps Back To The 70s At The Brady Bunch Home
Here's a story . . . about a man named Steve . . . who got to visit the The Brady Bunch house in California!
Steve Bridgmon grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky. Like all of my friends and Thruston Elementary School classmates, we grew up on The Brady Bunch. A lot of us feel like we spent just as much time inside the Brady's house than we did our own.
The show definitely defined a generation . . . ours.
Over the weekend, Steve got to do something incredibly nostalgic. He got the opportunity to walk back into his childhood and into that iconic Brady house.
And, wouldn't you know? He was greeted at the door by an Alice-esque housekeeper. Steve says, "When I rang the doorbell, she opened it and said, 'Welcome!"
Steve stepped into the house, back to 70s, and back into our second childhood home.
Today, it looks just like it did then.
Inside the house, he captured some of the most enduring images of that television classic.
That glorious kitchen! #porkchopsandapplesauce
The family room!
The bedrooms!
The attic!
And, sprinkled around the decor, there were some incredibly fun artifacts from some of the show's most popular episodes. Does this one in particular ring a bell?
That tiki caused The Brady Bunch some major issues on their Hawaiian vacation!
For his visit, Steve wanted to look and dress the part. So, he outfitted himself in a Brady Bunch t-shirt.
Steve, who admits Cindy (the youngest one in curls) was his favorite Brady, loved his visit and summarized it this way. He says, "Visiting the Brady Bunch house was like stepping back into my childhood, where every room and detail brought my favorite TV memories to life."
