Peek Inside Santa’s Workshop: Christmas Wish Opens in Owensboro

Get ready, Owensboro. Christmas Wish just got a whole lot bigger! We’re thrilled to open the doors to our brand-new 53,000-square-foot home (yes, we really jumped from 10,000!) in the former Big Lots building, and we can’t wait for you to see it. Starting Monday, December 1st, you can stop by to learn more about our mission, drop off donations, volunteer, or even adopt a family this holiday season. And trust me, the photo gallery sneak peek is just the beginning.

As we kick off the 49th season of Christmas Wish, the excitement is already buzzing through the new building. The elves have been busy stocking shelves, organizing toys, and bringing the magic to life over the past few weeks, all to get ready for opening day. Last year, your generosity helped 1,946 families and nearly 8,000 children wake up to gifts under the tree, with more than 50,000 presents shared. What will this year bring? We can’t wait to find out!

New Season, New Space!

For the past several years, Christmas Wish has called the former Shoe Stop location home, and let me tell you, we filled every single inch of that 10,000 square foot space with Christmas magic. But this year, we’re moving just two doors down, to a space that’s much bigger and so needed (50,000 square feet). We’re beyond excited to announce that our new Christmas Wish headquarters will be in the former Big Lots location at Towne Square North! What an unbelievable blessing. We want to give a huge shout-out and THANK YOU to the owners and stores at Towne Square North for their amazing generosity and continued support of our mission. We truly couldn’t do this without you!

The Christmas Wish office will open to the public on Monday, December 1st. We're open Monday through Friday from 9 AM until 6 PM and Saturday from 11 AM until 4 PM.

Spreading holiday cheer with Christmas Wish is one of the most rewarding ways to give back, and it might just become your favorite new tradition. Whether you're a business, school group, or family looking to make a difference, we’ve got plenty of ways to get involved. You can help fill Wish Letters, organize donations, and so much more. There’s something for everyone, and we promise you’ll leave with a full heart.

We gladly accept toy donations of all kinds. Every single item helps! With nearly 8,000 kids from babies to teens, we truly need it all. You can also drop off checks or cash (we’ll put it to good use!) or make a donation through PayPal if that’s easier. Christmas Wish runs on a tiny budget, just $500 to $800 a year, so your support is everything. Every dollar stays local and goes straight to helping families.
