Daviess County It Takes A Village No-Kill Rescue Overcapacity

An urgent situation is unfolding at It Takes a Village No-Kill Rescue - Daviess County after the recent intake of 51 cats and 6 dogs from a severe hoarding case. The shelter, now well beyond its capacity, is facing immense strain as it works to care for this sudden influx of animals. Shelter staff and volunteers are asking the community to step up if possible. Adopt or Foster Today!

To encourage adoptions and support families willing to take in a pet, Best Friends is sponsoring $100 toward the adoption fee for the first 50 pets adopted between now and Friday, June 27th, 2025. This limited-time incentive is intended to make it easier for more people to help.

Adoption Specials:
Adult Cats – FREE
Kittens – $25
Adult Dogs – $100 (1/2 off the usual fee!)
Puppies – $150 (that's $100 off on these cute babies!)
BONUS SAVINGS: We have many adoptable dogs with a sponsored adoption fee, which means ZERO dollars to approved homes.

Every eligible animal is: Spayed or neutered, and Microchipped. Up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines.

Whether you're able to adopt a pet, temporarily foster one, or help spread the word, everything matters at this critical time. Fostering even one animal helps free up space and resources for others, and adopting provides a lifelong home for a pet in need.
