This New Grippo’s Ice Cream May Be the Strangest Ever & We Are Here For It

Do y'all remember when Graeter's Ice Cream collaborated with Skyline for a chili-spice chilly treat? I never got a chance to try it, but I was definitely intrigued! A friend of mine got a pint and said it was actually pretty tasty!

I am ALL ABOUT this most recent announcement from Grippo's about a special partnership with United Dairy Farmers. The Cincinnati Enquirer shared a statement from Grippo's about how their motto is that food should be fun. So, it only makes sense that the name of this new flavor is Fun Food Crunch.

Here is how Dairy Foods Magazine describes this interesting ice cream:

Developed to celebrate the playful spirit and bold flavors that have made both brands household names for generations, Fun Food Crunch features a buttered popcorn flavored ice cream mixed with a Bar-B-Q spice infused caramel swirl and chocolatey, crunchy pretzel pieces for a sweet-and-salty treat unlike anything else in the freezer aisle.

That may be the... most unique combination of ingredients I have ever seen. (I don't want to say strangest, but if the shoe fits...) I am willing to give it a chance, but I wonder if it is actually spicy like the chips are. Have you noticed they've gotten spicier? I actually investigated that once, and there is an explanation. Anyway, I bet that even if the spice bits are hot, the cold ice cream and caramel swirl will cool your taste buds back down again. How interesting to have the buttered popcorn flavor be the base as well. Especially since it is something they are known for, along with their zesty chips.

For a limited time starting August 16th, pints of Fun Food Crunch will be available at all United Dairy Farmers retail stores. Mostly around the Cincinnati area, with Northern Kentucky locations in Independence and Alexandria. You can search for a store near you here.
