The warmer the weather, the more frequently you will hear word of another amazing festival. And if you're a festival fan and flower freak, Noblesville, Indiana, has you covered...maybe with peonies.

Indiana Peony Festival

That could certainly be a possibility on Saturday, May 16th, when Noblesville's historic Seminary Park once again plays host to the Indiana Peony Festival. And before I lose any of you for whom flowers don't ring any chimes, I'll remind you that the 6th Annual Indiana Peony Festival is way more than bouquets and arrangements. It's a free event, and year in and year out, folks keep coming back for more. Here's a look at last year's festival.

I think I might go just to see this old-school Volkswagen Bug covered in peonies. Very hippie. Very flower power. Very cool.

Indiana Peony Festival Events

Of course, the historic Noblesville park will be florally festooned, but guests will also enjoy live music, great food, plenty of festival merchandise, and tons of photo ops. I suspect you'll be snapping pics all day.

Visitors can expect the festivities to spill over into the streets and onto the courthouse lawn where they will find even more food and beverage vendors, and lots of shopping opportunities.

It's an event the entire family will enjoy, and if you have a dog or dogs, bring them along. You are asked, however, to provide your own water for your pups.

The Weather Channel's 10-day forecast indicates a beautiful day on May 16th, a perfect time to enjoy great food, entertainment, weather, and eye-popping floral designs arranged in unique artistic installations.

Sounds like a blast...even for a writer with a black thumb.
