Friday’s WBKR Yard Party Has Burgers, Baked Goods & Big Prizes
As our Yard Party Season winds down, we've got another fun Friday planned on the WBKR lawn! This week, we're serving up lunch, sweet treats, concert tickets, and a chance to support a wonderful local organization, all in one stop.
My Sister's Keeper, a local shelter serving women and children, is getting ready for its annual Bake Sale and Yard Party at the WBKR Studios. And trust me, come hungry!
We'll be on the WBKR lawn at 3301 Frederica Street in Owensboro this Friday, September 11, and My Sister's Keeper will serve $5 sack lunches from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
For just a $5 donation, you can grab a sack lunch that includes your choice of:
Hamburger or hot dog
Chips
A drink
And if you're trying to feed the whole office, they've got you covered there, too. My Sister's Keeper will deliver sack lunches if you order 10 or more.
Don't Forget the Bake Sale!
Now, let's talk dessert.
The My Sister's Keeper Bake Sale will be loaded with goodies. You'll find an assortment of homemade treats, restaurant-made goodies, and store-bought favorites.
So, if you need something sweet for the office, something to take home to the family, or want to treat yourself after lunch, this is your chance.
Honestly, I don't think anybody should be expected to walk past a bake sale and show that kind of restraint.
And Yes, the Champion Concert Car Is Coming!
As if burgers, hot dogs, and a giant bake sale weren't enough, the Champion Concert Car will roll into the WBKR Yard Party loaded with tickets to some upcoming shows!
Up for grabs will be tickets to That Arena Rock Show, returning to Castle Knoll Amphitheater in Paoli, Indiana, on Saturday, September 12.
If you love big '80s and '90s rock hits, you won't want to miss it.
And that's not all!
The Champion Concert Car will also have tickets to see Parker McCollum at the Ford Center in Evansville on Saturday, September 19.
Plus, more prizes are loaded up and ready to go!
Come Hungry and Support My Sister's Keeper
My Sister's Keeper has a simple but incredibly important mission: helping improve the lives of women and children experiencing homelessness by providing shelter, basic needs, safety, support, and education to empower them to improve their quality of life.
The organization is located at 2820 W. 4th Street in Owensboro, but Friday's fundraiser is happening right here on the WBKR lawn.
