Rock the Mic at Brasher’s Lil Nashville’s Karaoke Contest in Owensboro
Karaoke is the best. I love everything about it. I love singing it, watching other people do their thing, hooping, hollering, and cheering them on. No matter whether the 'superstar' on stage is tone-deaf or the reincarnation of Whitney Houston, I am here for it all. Sometimes the cringiest performance is the highlight of the night.
Karaoke Queen
My good friend Mercedez is the best karaoke queen I've ever seen. Not only does she hit every note, but she sells it with her energy and crowd participation. This woman will incorporate dance moves, work her way into the audience, and put on a SHOW!
Chances are, if you've been somewhere that does karaoke, you've seen her skills. Last year, she competed in the first-ever Singing For Gold karaoke contest at Owensboro's favorite honky tonk, Brasher's Lil Nashville.
Singing For Gold is BACK, Baby!
One of the best venues in town for live music, Brasher's usually reserves Thursday nights for open mic nights and karaoke, but for six weeks starting February 6th, the karaoke is gonna get action-packed!
If At First You Don't Succeed, Try, Try Again
When is Brasher's Karaoke Contest?
The contests start at 9 PM each of these nights: February 6th, February 13th, February 20th, February 27th, and March 6th. Each week, one guy and one girl will move on to the finals which will be held, tentatively, on March 13th.
A panel of judges will keep scores based on vocal talent, charisma, and crowd engagement, so be prepared to give it your all! You'll win bragging rights and some cash prizes. For more information, you can visit the Facebook event page here.
