Each year, countless kind-hearted community members generously contribute brand-new bikes for children through the Christmas Wish program. These bikes represent more than just a gift; they embody hope and joy for kids who may not otherwise experience the magic of Christmas. Here's how you can help!

While many children dream of owning a bike, funding constraints can often stand in the way of making those dreams come true. We rely heavily on donations, and what I've witnessed over the years has been a miracle. The outpouring of support has transformed lives and created unforgettable moments for families in our community, reminding us of the power of giving.

2024 CHRISTMAS WISH BIKE DRIVE

Fast Lane Automotive Sales, Owensboro Auto Spa, and Superior Pools are excited to announce that they're hosting this year's Christmas Wish bicycle drive! They're coming together to bring joy to local children this holiday season. With your support, we can ensure that every child who dreams of having a bike gets to experience that joy. Join us in making this holiday season unforgettable for our community’s kids!

Starting November 1st, 2024 donations of bikes or cash can be dropped off at 622 East 4th Street in Owensboro. Owensboro Auto Spa and Superior Pools have moved to a new corner at 4th and Triplett. Be sure to stop by and check out their new spaces.

Doesn’t every child deserve to find a bike under the tree from Santa at least once in their lifetime? We believe the answer is a resounding yes! Every child should experience the joy and excitement that comes with such a special gift. Let’s work together to make that dream a reality for as many kids as possible this holiday season.

CHRISTMAS WISH VOLUNTEERS

Christmas Wish relies on a dedicated core group of volunteers who have passionately supported the mission for 40+ years. US Bank has been a vital partner, allowing employees to volunteer their time during the holiday season. Over the years, many businesses have embraced “Giving Programs,” contributing to the success of our efforts. It’s important to note that without the commitment of volunteers, Christmas Wish wouldn’t be possible.

This season, we’ll need volunteers starting Wednesday, November 20th. If businesses are interested in helping out, please email barb@wbkr.com.

HOW TO DONATE TO CHRISTMAS WISH?

Your contributions to Christmas Wish are vital, as the program operates on an annual budget of just $500 to $800. Every individual involved volunteers their time, and we’re fortunate to have our space, signage, and other essentials generously donated. Local restaurants even provide meals for our volunteers throughout the season!

When you donate, you’re directly helping children in need, ensuring they receive the joy and warmth of the holiday spirit. Your support makes a meaningful impact in our community, bringing smiles to those who need it most. Together, we can create a brighter Christmas for all!

Since 1976 Christmas Wish has been “MAKING SURE EVERY CHILD IN THE TRI-STATE GETS A VISIT FROM SANTA”. You can make a profound difference in the lives of others and embrace the true spirit of Christmas by giving back to those in need. Your generosity not only spreads joy but also reinforces the values of compassion and community. Let’s create a brighter, more hopeful holiday for everyone!

Thanks to the incredible efforts and generosity of fundraisers like this, last year we were able to provide Christmas for 2,038 families in need. Over 8,000 children woke up to presents under the tree, and we handed out more than 50,000 gifts during the holiday season. If you or someone you know is in need this year, letter submissions will open on Friday, November 1st, 2024. It’s been an amazing journey, and we couldn’t have achieved this without your support! Let’s continue to spread joy and make a difference together.
