That sound you hear is every crappy pop-country artist on Music Row breathing a sigh of relief now that the greatest country artist -- and biggest $#%@-stirrer in the history of country music -- has decided to retire. - The Dam

Wheeler Walker, Jr.'s Pullin' Out: The Farewell Tour is rolling into Beaver Dam Amphitheatre on Saturday, October 17th. In advance of that concert, Mary-Katherine Maddox and I had the chance to chat with Wheeler about his Kentucky roots, his legendary career, his disdain for modern-day country music, and his upcoming show in western Kentucky in a town he's never heard of.

It's an understatement to say not everyone is thrilled that Wheeler is coming to The Dam. Following the tour stop announcement, there was a considerable amount of online pearl-clutching. Some folks in Ohio County weren't thrilled with the idea of the F-word flying off the stage and across town. Naturally, we decided to ask Wheeler about it.

If you're familiar with Wheeler at all, you know that he's very vocal about what he does and does NOT like in country music. He has a rather long (and public) history of disdain for acts like Florida Georgia Line. In fact, he once led a protest of an FGL exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. We asked about that too!

Wheeler's 2026-2027 Farewell Tour is massive. We're fortunate here in western Kentucky to have snagged one of his tour dates. Mary-Katherine and I were curious about why he's retiring in the first place.

We also took time to fill Wheeler in on Beaver Dam Amphitheatre and its commitment to showcasing a wide variety of acts on its stage. He's now a part of that legacy!

To celebrate Wheeler's concert at The Dam, we have teamed up with promoters to offer you the chance to win a table at the concert. Each table comes with four tickets and I can promise you: it's going to be an absolutely hilarious way to spend a Saturday night.

If you'd like the chance to win, simply fill out this registration form.

We'll randomly select, announce, and contact a new winner each day (Monday, October 12 through Friday, October 16). One important note: this show is for mature audiences only and you have to be 21+ to enter.

Good luck! We may see you at Pullin' Out in Beaver Dam!
