Yelp Says These Are the 10 Best Places for Art Classes Around Evansville

I love a good craft. Give me some paint, yarn, random scraps of paper or pretty much anything I can turn into something else, and I’m happy.

But you definitely don’t have to consider yourself an “artist” to enjoy getting creative every once in a while. Sometimes you just need something different to do with your friends, a unique date night or an excuse to finally learn that craft you’ve been saving videos of for months.

If that sounds like you, Yelp recently updated its list of the Top 10 Best Art Classes Near Evansville for 2026, and there are quite a few different ways to get creative around the Tri-State.

Yelp's Top 10 Art Classes Near Evansville

Coming in at No. 1 is Salvage Candy in Evansville, which Yelp lists under art classes, commissioned artists and used, vintage and consignment. It also currently holds a 4.7-star rating on Yelp based on three reviews.

No. 2 is Mitchell Art Academy & Clay Studio in Newburgh. Yelp categorizes this one as both an art school and art gallery, making it another option if you're looking to explore your creative side. However, according to Google, they seem permanently closed for the time being.

At No. 3 is Painting with a Twist in Evansville, which might be more your speed if you like a little socializing with your art. The paint-and-sip spot has a 4.8-star rating based on eight Yelp reviews.

No. 4 is the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana. Along with its gallery and exhibitions, Yelp points to art classes offered through the Arts Council. One reviewer also highlighted the opportunities it provides local artists to challenge themselves and connect with others in the art community.

Coming in at No. 5 is Board & Brush in Evansville, another option for anyone who wants to make something with their own two hands.

And the list doesn't stop at the Indiana state line. STUDIO 4905 in Henderson comes in at No. 6, with Yelp listing both art galleries and art classes among its categories.

Paint the Town in Evansville is No. 7, offering another paint-and-sip experience that could make for a fun night out or even a team-building activity.

At No. 8 is Jefferson Art Studios and Gallery in Evansville, followed by Crafted by Crash at No. 9, both of which Yelp includes among its local art class options.

Finally, Sheepskeins in Newburgh rounds out the list at No. 10. If your idea of getting crafty involves yarn, this one may catch your attention. Yelp lists Sheepskeins under both knitting supplies and art classes, and reviewers have mentioned its selection for knitters and crocheters.

Maybe It's Time to Try Something New

What I like about this list is that “art class” can mean a lot of different things. You can paint, work with clay, make something for your home, learn a new craft or simply spend a few hours doing something you don't normally do.

And you don't have to be the next Picasso to give one a try. Grab a friend, make it a date night or go by yourself and learn something new.

According to Yelp, these are the Top 10 Best Art Classes Near Evansville in 2026, but now I want to know what locals think. Is there an Evansville-area art class or creative spot that deserves to be on the list?
