Let's Eat! First Ever Christmas Wish Yard Party Happens Friday

We are so excited to announce that the last WBKR Yard Party of the season will benefit Christmas Wish. Live music, great food, deliveries offered, and a lot of fun. Here's what will be on the menu.

As you know we're getting ready to celebrate a Christmas Wish milestone this season. It will be the 45th Anniversary and we are so excited to make it the biggest and the best season ever! To make that happen, we need your help. If last year was a record-breaking year, I can only imagine what this season will hold. Based on all of the phone calls and messages asking about when families can start filling out Wish Letters, I think we have a good indication. So, let the fundraising begin!

Christmas Wish Yard Party

We haven't done a Christmas Wish Yard Party yet as we want to celebrate all non-profits in town. Until this year! There was one spot left on the schedule, so it just makes sense to have a big ole' party. Come join us on the front lawn of the WBKR Studio on Friday, October 29th, 2021. We'll be serving up some lunch from 11 AM until 1 PM, and we hope that you can stop by. You can get a burger grilled by the Daviess County Pork Producers, chips, drink, and a homemade cookie straight from the Kroger bakery for just $5 bucks. Because of some amazing sponsors, 100% of the proceeds will go to families in need this holiday season. We will also have the talented Josh Orion playing some tunes to keep us entertained.

Pre-order Lunch, Have it Delivered

This is where it gets tricky! As of right now, there's rain in the forecast for Friday. It's still early, but it could very well happen. If it does rain, the party will still happen. We're offering FREE deliveries in the Owensboro area on all lunches ordered of 5 or more. That's going to be huge especially if it rains. Why leave the office when we can bring lunch to you! If you want to pre-order, that would also help a lot. We have enough food for 500 meals, so we need you.

WBKR Yard Party Wraps Up

It's been a tremendous season of fundraising for area non-profits this WBKR Yard Party season, sponsored by TTMA. It's been such a gift to meet so many wonderful people, helping so many in need. It was one of my favorite Yard Party years to date. It's been a joy meeting all of you who stopped by to grab some lunch too. We live in such a giving community, and I'm proud to be part of it.
