Earlier in the year Walgreens bought Rite Aid and we all started wondering what would become of the locations in Owensboro. I'm a Rite Aid shopper. The staff is SO friendly and even call you by name when you walk through the door. They are HUGE supporters of Christmas Wish and help whenever possible. I can't say enough about the staff at Rite Aid. Now, the question is, what will become of the stores and the staff?

Here's what we know:

The Rite Aid on 4th St. will be closing it's doors August 1st, 2018. Everything will be marked to 50% off this Sunday. The staff recently went through the interview process to see if they can be moved to a Walgreens store.

The Rite Aid on Sherm Rd. will be closing on July 23rd, 2018 to start major markdowns and will reopen July 26th. They'll be closing their doors for good in a couple of months. The pharmacy will officially close on July 23rd. Prescriptions will move over to Walgreen's unless you move them elsewhere. When I went to the store yesterday, they already have many items marked to 50% off including diapers. The staff recently went through the interview process to see if they can be moved to a Walgreens store.

The Rite Aid on West Parrish will remain and become a Walgreens location. Unsure if there will be a sale during the transition.

My Rite Aid location on 25th St. has been amazing and I'm still hoping they remain open. As of right now, their fate is unknown. I'm hoping they stay just as they are. Again, the Rite Aid staff is second to none. The best!

Although, losing the stores is a bad deal, you can get a good deal with big sales!
