The last time I went inside a McDonald's was for the express purpose of giving those kiosks a try.

The faster-paced society in which we live has increased the demand for much speedier service.

And now it looks as if McDonald's will be going all kiosk by 2020. Right now, you can choose to place your order at the counter OR place it at the kiosk.

But what I found interesting about kiosk service involves OTHER chains that already have them in place  AND the kind of technology that would allow a kiosk to actually RECOGNIZE you when you return.

Yes, that's right. We're talking about a way for a kiosk to "remember" what frequent customers who stick to the same order, pretty much, like to eat.

One chain I've never heard of called Caliburger has even tried out FACIAL RECOGNITION software at its kiosks.

"Oh, that's that blonde guy with the mole above his left eye. He'll have a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, small fries, and a large iced tea. I'd know him ANYWHERE."

Man, we're moving fast, aren't we?

Here's my "for what it's worth" question...how soon will reach the point where we're just not talking to ANYONE in public? Or even BEING in public?

I guess we'll have to wait and see...but probably not that long.
