Missouri Law Says Firefighter Can’t Rescue You If You’re Naked?
Surely this can't be true, but I've found multiple sources that say a strange Missouri law says a firefighter can't rescue you if you're naked. Let's find out more.
I have seen this many places including a website called Bangalore Mirror and even a law firm. Here's the exact quote from the law firm since I trust them more than India:
In St. Louis City, it is illegal for an on-duty firefighter to rescue a woman who is nude or wearing a nightgown. In order to be rescued, she must be fully clothed.
Do tell. I know for a fact that my many firefighter friends (after they stop laughing at the thought of this) would not hesitate to rescue anyone no matter how much (or little) clothing they had on.
This idea of a firefighter not rescuing naked women became well known enough that it became a meme not that long ago. Atlas Corp also shared this so I know that it's still a law somewhere just never enforced. Or so I hope.
I think I can prove that our brave men and women who fight fires would rescue anyone including those sans clothing. Here's just one example.
As wacky as it sounds that our beloved lawmakers would leave a crazy law like this on the books, it makes sense when you think about all the stupid new laws they're passing every day it seems. This wouldn't even rank in the top 10 among those. (*face palm*)
