A Monday night wave of vandalism in Owensboro has resulted in damage to multiple homes, at least one vehicle, and several businesses.

MULTIPLE OWENSBORO BUSINESSES AND HOMES DAMAGED

The Owensboro Police Department issued the following statement about the incident:

Beginning at 8:30 PM on November 28, 2022, officers began receiving reports of damage caused to windows at multiple businesses and residences. The damage is consistent with being struck with a projectile from a bb or pellet gun. At this time, there have been approximately a dozen reports with the combined damage expected be thousands of dollars. The majority of these reports occurred in the downtown area of Owensboro. The OPD Criminal Investigation's Division is currently investigating these crimes and believe that they were all related.

Due to the double-paned design of the windows at the Owensboro Convention Center, the projectiles only damaged the outer windows. No glass got into the building. It's the same story for the Family Dollar (on the left), but that's just a single pane.

Thankfully, no one there was injured. I did speak to the store's manager who was present Monday evening, at the time of the incident, but she saw nothing and heard what she thought was a car driving over a water bottle.
