With public schools in Owensboro and Daviess County closing for three weeks, beginning Monday, many children will need the breakfasts and lunches they can count on when school is in session.

With that in mind, Owensboro Public Schools will provide those meals at no cost to kids under the age of 18 throughout the first two weeks of school closure due to COVID-19 concerns.

Monday through Friday, from March 16th through March 27th, breakfasts will be served from 8:15AM until 10:05AM  and lunches will be served from 11AM until 1:20PM.

OPS says all meals will be prepped in advance and then individually packaged.

At each stop, breakfast will be served for 10 minutes and will take about 10 minutes to transport between stops. For lunch, serving will last 15 minutes at each stop.

Unlike the Summer Feeding Program, meals will not be consumed on site. They should be picked up and taken home.

The third week of school closure, March 30th through April 3rd, is the regularly scheduled spring break, so there will be no meal provisions that week.

They may add sites to the list, but for now, you can click here for a current complete list of feeding site locations.
