There are many interesting Owensboro and Daviess County citizens buried at Elmwood Cemetary on New Hartford Road. Many of them have interesting stories to tell that may have been lost forever. Thankfully that has not happened.

For the fourth year in a row a dedicated group of volunteers have been searching historical records and interviewing family members to bring those stories and the folks who own them back to life if only for a few weeks.

The event is called Voices of Elmwood, a historical re-enactment featuring local actors as the people buried in the cemetery. Riding haywagons, patrons are taken on an hour long ride with 10 historic stops along the way. At each stop a different cemetery citizen tells his or her story.

Todd Reynolds is one of the volunteer who does the research, writes the scripts and works the three week long event each year. Todd was a guest on the Joe Lowe Morning Show Thursday morning and shares some of this years "Voices" with us. We have posted the interview here for you to enjoy at your leisure.

We went out and took some photos of Elmwood during the day. It is very different at night when the residents come out to share their stories.

For tickets and more information call the Owensboro Area Museum during office hours 270-687-2732 but hurry this is one of the hottest tickets in town and always sells out early.
