Owensboro Police Identify Deer Trail Shooting Victim

Owensboro police responded to the 3100 block of Deer Trail Tuesday morning after reports of a shooting.

They discovered that 23-year-old Deandre S. Mitchell had sustained a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.

He was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

Since Deer Trail is in the Audubon Acres subdivision, nearby Audubon Elementary School was placed on lockdown.
