We told you last week about the Yondr pouch, which would disable your phone at a live concert, now, Apple has been granted permission to develop a patent that would block iPhones from taking photos and recording video at concerts.

Apple applied for the patent back in 2011. The technology they are developing is described as a "camera detecting infrared signal". A venue could turn on a specific signal that would interrupt and block the phone from recording any footage, therefore, the user would have no choice but to put their phones away. Here's a schematic of what the signal block would look like.

A "temporarily disabled" notification would pop up each time a user attempts to take a photo or video. The technology Apple is developing is a few years away, so snap those pics and video while you can, or, here's a nutty idea, be a rebel and put your phone away and enjoy the show!
