Researchers Find Ways That Mono Sucks More Than We Thought
If you thought "the kissing disease" was bad before, wait until you hear about THIS...
Researchers have discovered that the mono virus (Epstein-Barr virus; EBV) is actually linked to many major diseases.
Diseases like lupus, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, IBS, juvenile arthritis, celiac disease, and type 1 diabetes are all being linked back to mono.
Now, they're not saying that all people with these diseases got it from mono. Nor are they saying that if you've had mono you are definitely going to get one of these diseases. Research merely says that if you have had mono the potential of you getting these diseases later in life is at an increased risk.
NOT SO FUN FACT: Once you have mono (EBV) the virus stays with you for life! Sure, it goes dormant for a while (for some, maybe they're whole life), but for some it can randomly flare up again at any time. ISN'T THAT FUN??
DOUBLE FUN FACT: There is no vaccine to prevent EBV.
Also, if you need a palate cleanser to try to forget about all the awful information I just gave you, watch this.
