A Chinese man decided to propose to his girlfriend by shelling out $85,000 on 99 iPhone 6s, which he arranged in the shape of a heart. Her response? No thanks.

The man popped the question on November 11, known as Singles' Day in China. It's a time when the unattached splurge by shopping like it's Black Friday.

For his sake, let's hope he can return all the phones and have some semblance of a financial portfolio to impress the ladies.
