Start a Tradition: Families and Businesses Wanted this Holiday Season
Are you looking for a way to spread some holiday cheer? It's time to start a new holiday tradition and bring joy to families in need this holiday season. There are several volunteer opportunities for businesses, students, and families with Christmas Wish. Here's what's involved and how to sign up.
There's no better feeling than helping those in need this holiday season. Maybe you can't afford to adopt a family, drop off toys or make a monetary donation. Because times are tough, it's understandable. If you've always wanted to be involved with the Christmas Wish program, there are other ways you can help. You can always devote time by volunteering and helping those less fortunate.
46TH ANNUAL CHRISTMAS WISH PROGRAM
We're excited to get the new season of Christmas Wish underway. We locked in the location and set the opening date. Once again, we will be back at Towne Square North here in Owensboro. We will be located between Big Lots and Buffalo Wild Wings in the shopping center. Thanks to the owners and stores at Towne Square North for their incredible generosity and commitment to supporting our mission. The "soft opening" day is Monday, November 21st, 2022. We'll get the Christmas Wish office ready for opening day on Monday, December 5th. You can help ensure every child in the tri-state gets a visit from Santa.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU VOLUNTEER AT CHRISTMAS WISH?
1. You'll catch the true spirit of Christmas knowing you're putting smiles on children's faces on Christmas day.
While working at Christmas Wish, you're helping families in need during the holiday season. You'll read the wish letters, hear about their needs, cry a little, and walk away knowing you've made a difference in somebodies life.
2. Become an elf in Santa's workshop.
Christmas Wish recruits volunteers from all across the region. Volunteering in Santa's Workshop could be a perfect opportunity for families or businesses. You'll read the wish letters and grant wishes. You'll "shop" from the hundreds of toys in Santa's Workshop. It's fun and rewarding.
3. Teach life lessons.
Does your child get everything they ask for during Christmas? Do they get a hot Christmas meal? By helping Christmas Wish with your family, you can teach your children about giving back. It may just change their lives.
HOW TO SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER?
We always need volunteers every season at Christmas Wish, but you may not know that each year we also have days or nights set aside for families/businesses (15 or more people) to come and help at Christmas Wish. Some will bring pizza and make it a fun outing. Business employees volunteer to bond. Everyone who volunteers wants to give back. Your efforts give over 5000 children an amazing Christmas morning.
If you have a business or family that would like to reserve a spot, we'd love to have you. Email Barb Birgy at email@example.com to inquire about open days/times to volunteer. Christmas Wish is a magical place to volunteer, and we can't wait to meet you there!
CHRISTMAS WISH MISSION
Since 1976 Christmas Wish has been “MAKING SURE EVERY CHILD IN THE TRI-STATE GETS A VISIT FROM SANTA”. You can make a huge difference in the lives of others and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas by giving back to those in need this holiday season.
If you're in need or know somebody that is, fill out your Christmas Wish Letter today. We'll be here to help.
As we get ready to celebrate our 46th Anniversary Season of Christmas, let's take a look back at the record-breaking 2021 season.
Because of efforts and generosity like this fundraiser, 1,628 families in need received Christmas last year. Over 5,000 children had presents under the tree. Around 1,200 families had a Christmas meal on the table, and over 25,000 gifts were handed out during the holiday season.
