It's coming back and the field is set!  The 2022 Lip Sync Battle, which will be the 5th annual for Puzzle Pieces here in Owensboro, is coming back to the Owensboro Convention Center in January.  And, this morning here at WBKR, we're excited to reveal, for the first time, the ten teams that will be taking the stage to compete.  Here's a look at your official lineup!

So, here's some more info about the matchups!

The annual "SCHOOL" battle will invite, for the first time ever, a school from outside the city/county limits.  A team from South Hancock Elementary will roll into town ready to take on Daviess County Middle School.

Plus, we're incredibly excited about our "SPEEDY DELIVERY" battle, which pits team members from the United States Post Office against a team from UPS.

We also have more first-time teams taking the stage.  We have a duel featuring students from two local nursing schools.  We have the "Cart Crashers" from Owensboro Community and Technical College and "Code Red," which features students from the University of Louisville Nursing School.

Then, we have two teams that each sport former Battle winners.  We've got the Mom Squad taking on the High Heel Heroes.

And, finally, we're going to have an absolutely epic rematch between the Handcuff Hunnies (the wives from the Owensboro Police Department) and the Hose Handlers (the wives of the Owensboro Fire Department).  At the 4th Annual Lip Sync Battle, the result of that matchup was the closest in event history, with the two teams separated by just a handful of votes.  So, in 2022, they're coming back to settle the score.

This morning, Puzzle Pieces Executive Director Amanda Owen joined Angel and me to talk about the excitement building for the 5th annual event.

Lip Sync Battle 2022 is set for Saturday, January 15th at the Owensboro Convention Center.  Stay tuned to WBKR, WBKR.com and the WBKR app for more breaking news about the event, including ticket on sale information!
