The Palmetto State Quartet has been a mainstay in Southern Gospel Music since the 1940's. With nearly 70 years of history behind them, the Quartet is regarded as one of the premier Christian recording artists in the industry. Over the past seven decades, many wonderfully talented men have represented the Quartet, and carried on the rich tradition, always delivering exceptional vocal harmony and superb stage presence. That tradition continues today with the group’s current personnel.

As the Quartet entered its seventh decade, bass singer, Larry Strickland, assumed ownership of the group, carrying on the rich tradition that audiences have come to know, love and expect from the Palmetto State. Larry, a former member of the renowned Stamps Quartet, has spent years in and around Gospel and secular music. He is married to Naomi Judd, and has been instrumental in the career of the Judds and numerous other internationally known recording artists. After years of managing Naomi's career, in 2008, much to the delight of long-time PSQ fans, Larry returned to Gospel Music scene and now serves as manager and bass singer for PSQ. Joining Strickland on stage are talented lead vocalist Paul Lancaster, who, like Strickland, brings years of experience to the group, having traveled with such popular groups as The Mullins, The Martins, The Greenes and The Booth Brothers, just to name a few. Robert Fulton provides the smooth tenor vocals for the Quartet, while David Darst rounds out the group, providing the pleasing baritone.

The Palmetto State Quartet brings energy, excitement and musical excellence to each concert. This exciting musical event in Owensboro promises to be enjoyable for the entire family. To obtain additional information, call 615-579-1075 or 270-586-0087 or visit.
