Bad News For IL When Predicting Number Of Tornados This Year
The severe weather in Illinois has increased so much, scientists predict it could soon become part of "Tornado Alley."

I believe it's pretty obvious that Illinois has been experiencing an increased number of severe storms each year. That includes tornados. It's only May and we've already had eighty-six touchdowns in our state. Twenty-two of them on March 31st alone. Tornado season in the Land of Lincoln is considered from April through June. We've already hit record levels. Scientists predict Illinois will become part of "Tornado Alley."

What Is Tornado Alley?
"Tornado Alley is an area of the U.S. where there is a high potential for tornado development," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Kottlowski said.
"This area encompasses much of northern Texas northward through Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and parts of Louisiana, Iowa, Nebraska and eastern Colorado."
Changes With Tornados In Illinois
According to scientists and experts, global warming is having a huge effect on the climate. We are experiencing extreme weather in every direction. That includes a massive increase in severe conditions like twisters. This is causing areas like "Tornado Alley" to expand. The shift is starting to overcome Illinois. That is definitely bad news for our state. Residents will be paying a little more attention to the warnings that they have popped up on their phones.
