As tributes pour in for Gary's Drive-In owner, Gary Pickrell, the funeral proceedings will be slightly delayed. Gary's granddaughter, Roxanne, is at Norton's Children's Hospital to get a brain tumor removed tomorrow. This beautiful family needs our prayers.

Tributes have been pouring in all weekend for Gary's Drive-In owner, Gary Pickrell, following his death at the age of 70. As you lay your head on the pillow tonight, say a prayer for this wonderful family and for Gary's granddaughter, Roxanne. Roxie is at Norton's Children's Hospital to get a brain tumor removed on Monday. Her surgery is scheduled for 12PM EST/11AM CST. This family is going through so much. Friday must have seemed like a nightmare, that they can't wake up from.

All weekend I've been in constant communication with Jason, Gary's son. I was devastated when I heard the news about Roxie on Friday. As if losing your Dad wasn't devastating enough, the family has had little time to grieve. When Jason and his family received the news of his father's passing, they were at the doctor's office with their 13-year-old daughter Roxanne. Roxie had some vision issues lately and just wasn't herself.

At the time of Gary's passing, the news came in. Gary's granddaughter has a brain tumor. Surgery was recommended immediately for the 4 cm mass. Can you imagine the unimaginable?

Jason's wife, Cathy and their daughter, immediately went to Norton's Children's Hospital on Friday. Jason went to grieve with his mother for a few hours, and then made his way to Louisville, to be with his family. Jason said, "It was a lot to handle for one day." Indeed, I responded with tears in my eyes. I instantly went to my knees in prayer.

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)

Be sure to Rock Your Red for Roxie tomorrow. I already know which red dress that I'll be wearing. #RockyourRED4foxyROXIE

I asked Jason about the funeral arrangements for his dad last night. I know many of you will be looking for that information to pay your respects. Gary was a beloved member of this community. I read so many tributes from family, friends and coworkers. Although, when you read them all as I have done, you could label everyone in Gary's life as family. Gary was very devoted to his wife Donna, his boys, Jason and Josh, and of course, his grandchildren were his world. He loved his entire family with everything he had in him. That includes, those who've worked for Gary, his many friends, his customers that patronized Gary's Drive-In, and everyone that crossed his path throughout his 70 years. He will be missed.

I've seen this question asked a lot over the weekend. What will become of Gary's Drive-In?

That's not a question that this family is worried about right now, I would guess. From what I understand though, Gary's Drive-In will be just fine. A small gesture for Gary, Donna, Roxie and the family, would be to pack Gary's Drive-In in the days, weeks and months ahead. You can drop off a sympathy card for the family, give the staff a hug and eat some delicious food.

"The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down." (Psalm 145:14)

Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory will be handling the memorial service and funeral arrangements. The services have been postponed, for a little while, so they can get Roxanne home or stable. Please lift this family up in prayer. Prayers for the doctors, nurses and surgeons at Norton's Children's Hospital and sweet Roxie. She's at the best hospital and will get amazing care. This is such a scary time for this family. The unknown of how to live without the backbone and patriarch of the family. The unknown with Roxanne and her medical journey. The unknown of what tomorrow may bring.

Just keep the tributes coming. The family is reading them, gaining strength from them and appreciates them all. I will continue to add more to this story for the family.

"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)
