I know.  You're licking your lips right now because that cake looks so flippin' good.  Trust me, after you eat it, you'll want to lick your whole face.  This, ladies and gents, is a Whoopie Pie Cake- the gigantic version of the beloved Whoopie Pie!  And I've got the recipe for you!

Whoopie Pie Cake

1 box Devil's Food cake mix

1 box chocolate instant pudding

1/4 cup oil

4 large eggs

1 1/2 cup low fat milk

5 tablespoons flour

1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup lowfat milk

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup shortening

Directions: Grease and flour 2 round cake pans.

Mix cake mix, pudding, oil, eggs and 1 and 1/2 cups low fat milk.  Beat 1 minute. Divide batter and pour into pans.  Bake for approximately 20 to 25 minutes at 350 degrees.  Cool completely when finished.

Filling: Cook flour and 1 cup low fat milk until thick.  Cool completely.  In a separate bowl, mix and whip the sugar, butter and shortening.  Then combine with milk and flour mixture.

The filling goes between the two cakes.

This recipe is RIDICULOUS and the cake tastes just like Whoopie Pie.  I used to live in Maine and Whoppie Pies were insanely popular there.  After all, it's the official state treat there.  No kidding.  But now, you can spare yourself the 24-hour drive and just bake this recipe at home.  You're gonna love it!

And special thanks to June Wright, Director of Corporate & Public Relations at Mid-Continent University.  I had a remote broadcast with her last week and it was there she tipped me off to this recipe.  When I got home, I threw on my Kiss the Cook apron, mixed it, baked it, and put some oven stank on it.  LOL!
