My European cruise was canceled last month.  My friend Michelle Vincent has had three cruises canceled this year.  The same goes for my friend Clara Hook.  She and her husband have had three trips canceled as well.  We, like a bunch of you, are wondering when we'll be able to set sail on a cruise ship again.  Kevin and I toyed with flying to Australia in December and cruising the South Pacific, but I don't think that's going to happen either.  So, when is it?  At this point, it's anyone's guess.

However, the CDC is looking to the cruising public to share their thoughts in advance of lifting of the current "No-Sail" order, that's been in place since March 14th because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  I suppose there's some level of inherited risk anytime you step on a ship with thousands of other passengers.  COVID-19 has certainly raised the risk.  Consequently, the CDC is looking for feedback on 28 different cruise-related questions/topics- from on-board COVID-19 testing and screening, to what steps should be taken in the event a ship suffers an outbreak and isn't allowed in port, to dining procedures, safety drills, entertainment, cruise line liability, etc.

If you want to see the complete list of topics being discussed by the CDC, CLICK HERE.  When you do, you'll also see the link where you can share your thoughts and suggestions.  Thousands of cruisers have already chimed in.  If you're like me and can't wait to cruise travel to resume, you may want to consider sharing your thoughts and suggestions as well.  According to the site, "Written comments must be received on or before September 21st, 2020."

The current "No Sail" order is in place until September 30th, though most major cruise lines have announced cancellations that stretch through October and beyond.
