Zoolumination: Largest Lantern Fest In U.S. Coming To Nashville

As a kid, I always wanted to go to China to a parade and what the giant lanterns dance through the streets. Now I can mark it off my bucket list close to home in Nashville-->

Zoolumination: Chinese Festival of Lights features more than 500 beautful custom lanterns covering over 60-acres of land.

The festival will be in Nashville from November through February.

According to FOX17 Nashville:

Chinese artists have recreated zoo animals in great detail, according to a news release. Festival-goers can expect to see elephants, rhinos, giraffes, a dragon nearly the size of a football field and some lanterns that reach four-stories tall.
Just in time for the holidays, the festival will feature a "life-size "North Pole Village," an illuminating recreation of where Santa and his Elves live.
Construction of the massive lanterns will take place behind the zoo, where welders and artists will work.
"The lanterns will require more than 70 tons of steel; 50,000 feet of silk; 21,000 LED bulbs and more than 50,000 feet of cable and wire to hook it all up; most of which will be re-purposed or recycled after the event."
The festival runs from Nov. 15 to Feb. 2 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night, only closing on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Single night admission adult tickets are $19, children from ages 2 to 12 are $14 and children 2 years old and under are free. Zoo members can get $2 off.

Tickets go on sale on sale Wednesday, September 4.
