Audubon Pkwy Project to Cause Traffic Restrictions Beginning Tuesday

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to resume road improvement work on the Audubon Parkway in Henderson County with traffic restrictions and traffic shifts starting this week.  

This extensive project involves placing a seven inch concrete overlay on all lanes of the Audubon Parkway from mile point 8.5, just west of the KY 416 Hebbardsville Exit, to the Green River Bridge at mile point 15.839, a distance of 7.3 miles. 

Construction of the overlay along the Audubon Parkway eastbound lanes was completed during the 2011 construction season.  To allow placement of a concrete overlay along the westbound lanes, traffic will be shifted with two-way traffic running along the eastbound lanes starting this week. 

Starting Tuesday morning, April 10, 2012, all eastbound traffic will be restricted to one lane to allow placement of traffic control and center line delineation markers.  Starting Thursday morning, April 12th, all traffic will be shifted with two-way traffic along the eastbound lanes. 

Motorists are asked to pay special attention to message boards and signage for changes in traffic flow.  Appropriate caution is required in the work zone where construction equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel will be on the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.  There will be a strictly enforced work zone speed limit. 

The Harper Company of Hebron, KY is the prime contractor on this $14.9 million highway improvement project.
