My friend Edith Bennett will be honored today. Edith died on April 12. Relatives and friends from all over this area and other states will be in Owensboro for the service at Third Baptist Church. Scheduled for 4:00 p.m., it and the burial tomorrow, next to her father, in No Creek, KY., will follow Edith's written instructions. Here is a brief tribute to her from her photos she shared me with me.

Edith always remembered dates and anniversaries. At this time of this photo, in 1968, she had already worked at WOMI for sixteen years. She has 46 years more to go. She died two months after WOMI's 75th anniversary.

One of my favorite photos of Edith. I never saw her this way. Meeting her in 2005, she was already well into her senior years. This photo would have been around 1952 when she began her 62 year career at WOMI.
